Primary hyperaldosteronism

Whole Body Systems
Abdomen & Pelvis

Primary hyperaldosteronism is a condition where the adrenal glands produce too much aldosterone, causing high blood pressure and low potassium. It is more common than previously thought. An MRI may show changes in the adrenal glands consistent with an adenoma or enlargement. Finding primary hyperaldosteronism early may allow for surgical or medical treatment before it causes cardiovascular complications.
