Small bowel tumour

Abdomen & Pelvis

Tumours of the small bowel are uncommon but can develop from various tissue types. They often cause no symptoms until they are large. An MRI may show changes in the small bowel lining or a mass consistent with a tumour. Finding a small bowel tumour early may allow for surgical removal before it causes obstruction or spreads. MRI enterography is effective for assessing the small bowel and can identify tumours and thickening of the bowel wall. Endoscopic methods are used for direct tissue sampling.

SCReening explained
It’s important to understand that OneMRI's full-body scan is a general proactive health scan developed to include areas where preventative screening delivers the most meaningful insight in a way that is safe and non-invasive. The scan should be used to compliment other routine scans and screening. It should not replace standard screening protocols or targeted procedures as recommended by your doctor, specialist or health provider. Examples of these include mammogram, prostate examination, cervical screening, colonoscopy, and lung cancer screening.
