Systemic lupus erythematosus

Whole Body Systems

Systemic lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune condition that can affect multiple organs including the kidneys, brain, heart, and joints. It can cause periods of inflammation that may go unrecognised. An MRI may show changes in affected organs consistent with lupus involvement. Identifying organ involvement in lupus early may allow for treatment to help prevent permanent damage.
