Systemic sclerosis - organ involvement

Whole Body Systems

Systemic sclerosis is an autoimmune condition causing worsening hardening of the skin and internal organs. It can affect the lungs, kidneys, heart, and digestive tract. An MRI may show changes in affected organs consistent with fibrotic involvement. Finding organ involvement in systemic sclerosis early may allow for targeted treatment to help slow progression.
