Uterine polyps are growths attached to the inner lining of the uterus. They are common and usually harmless but can occasionally cause abnormal bleeding. An MRI may show changes in the uterine cavity consistent with a polyp. Finding a uterine polyp early allows for investigation and removal before it causes symptoms or, in rare cases, undergoes malignant change.
